Hollywood Elsewhere's Jeff Wells has written an amusing takedown of Steven Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan ('98). I think it's a trivial, childish diatribe that is no less entertaining for it, but of all of the potential speed bumps in Spielberg's flag-waving generational tribute, these are without a doubt the most inconsequential and naive.
