If I was a stinking rich Charles Foster Kane type with a Xanudu-like basement, there's no question that I would become a rabidly impulsive connoisseur of movie memorabilia - stacks leaning over twenty-feet high, echoes bouncing around them - and it would all be authentic, the real shit.
Alas, I'm not, so reproductions are in order for people like me. Anyway, my two newest posters, Robert Stevenson's lushly-shot and staged Jane Eyre ('44) with Orson Welles and Joan Fontaine for 20th Century Fox and Henry King's The Gunfighter ('50) with Gregory Peck.
The irony is that I've never even seen The Gunfighter - it's not available on Netflix, it doesn't seem to ever pop up on TCM and it can only be purchased in a western three-pack with Rawhide and Garden of Evil.
