The trailer for Anton Corbijn's The American (Focus Features, 9.1.10) is out, courtesy of Yahoo! Movies and considering the talent involved (George Clooney), it comes as no surprise that it looks like a handsome, sophisticated thriller.
Corbijn has a detailed background in music video directing that translated well into his stunning black-and-white debut, the critically-adored Ian Curtis biopic Control ('07) - which I'm also a big fan of.
