This snazzy one-sheet for
Julie Taymor's
The Tempest (Miramax, 12.10) kinda makes me wanna go see it. The conceptual design is nothing new, but it works anyway and it engages the viewer. Taymor (
Titus, Across the Universe) isn't exactly a slam-dunk, not by a long shot, but I'm excited to see the trailer.
Of course, the film is based on
William Shakespeare's play of the same name, which for me, will always be traced back in some shape or form to
Fred M. Wilcox's
Forbidden Planet ('56), a goofy, top-of-the-line science-fiction space traveler based on "The Tempest".
